Mmm.. Coffee! My Sims live on the stuff, especially Kaidan, who is an astronaut and needs to go to work energised to get promoted (I wish getting promoted was as easy as in the Sims! Well, if I’m wishing for stuff in real life, motherlode, motherlode, motherlode).
I decided I’d do the coffee share (I’m glad to be back by the way!) with my Sims as I haven’t really been doing much this week except recovering from backache and playing Sims 4 while my little one was away on holiday.
I’m currently playing with Shepard and Kaidan that I modelled from characters in Mass Effect. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to fan fiction (hopefully). I think the Sims 4 is more fun when I’m playing as characters rather than playing as a Sim modelled on myself. That probably tells you everything you need to know about me, I often wish I was someone else.
My Sims week has been pretty busy and fun. Shepard recently had a cute little baby girl called Seren.
Aww! Seren had a birthday party this week, well an imaginary one, because you cannot have a party for baby Sims in the Sims 4. Basically, in the Sims 4, being a baby sucks for many reasons, lack of toddlers included (lets not go there), so I tend to age up my babies as soon as I can after taking cute screenshots for their memories, “Remember when Seren was a baby for 1 whole minute? They grow up so fast!”.
To celebrate the lack-of-birthday-but-screw-you-Sims-I’m-going-to-celebrate-anyway, after altering Seren to look just like my little one, I took my Sims on a camping holiday using the outdoor retreat DLC. They had lots of fun roasting marshmellows around the campfire with a friend from the neighbourhood who just so happens to be an alien in disguise.
They also spent some time teaching Seren how to fish, so we could roast the fish for dinner on the campfire. While fishing, my Sims ran into a bear. Everyone was immediately freaked out, but after a while, my Sims started to realise that the bear was actually a pretty nice person underneath and spent a lot of time with her.
The camping holiday was over all too quickly, mostly because I am not using cheats on this playthrough and camping is pretty expensive if you stay in a lodge for proximity to toilet reasons. It was time to go back to reality (wait, what is reality for my Sims?) and go back to work and school (Ugh homework).
As I said, Kaidan is still Mass Effect-ing, he’s a Space Ranger astronaut (10), but Shepard decided for a change of career after I got the “Get to Work” DLC. She’s a doctor (Shoutout to Dr. Chakwas), and managed to get promoted to Surgeon (9), bringing in some much needed Simoleons for her Sim family. Being a doctor is by far my favourite, “Get to Work” job.
This little girl with bloaty head looks just like my daughter Seren! Treating children is my favourite thing, all the adults have to wait for me to treat all the kiddies, unless adult Sims are collapsed or in labour. It took a long while to figure out which symptoms belonged to which illness, but I think Shepard has it all figured out now.
The last thing that happened to my Sims this week, well, Kaidan got abducted outside my house.
Hope you enjoyed coffee with my Sims 🙂
