If we were having coffee, whilst sat in my living room, surrounded by Lego everywhere so watch your step(!), I’d tell you that I’ve had a pretty good week overall. When you’re struggling mentally, it’s really important to focus on the day to day, but at the same time, it’s important to look at how you are overall. I had a couple of bad days in the early week, but overall, I can see that I am better than I was last week and I am hoping to get discharged this week from the Home Treatment Teams care.
My daughter and I went into town early in the week, despite the fact I was struggling, with the aim of refilling our art supplies, but unfortunately all of the art shops seemed to be sold out of normal sized canvasses. We had a choice between very big or very small, so a bit pointless for us. Nothing that eBay couldn’t fix for us when I got home, but I’m still waiting on delivery or I would be sharing the art we did this week! We also had lunch and added another Lego set to our collection. My daughter bought a Lego supermarket with her Easter money and I bought two minifigures from series 15.
We had a lot of fun putting the Lego set together, and playing make believe with the characters. I think I have more fun with Lego now, than I did when I was a kid. I’ve been really enjoying sharing Lego photos on Instagram, and think that Wordless Wednesday will always have plenty of pictures for the foreseeable future.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that, it’s now April and I’m still taking part in my new years resolution. This definitely has to be some kind of record for me, usually by the end of February I’ve given up. My resolution is to take part in a video project called One Second Everyday, and I have three months worth of one second everyday videos so far. I just finished mashing March together last night. I’ve been really enjoying it, and I’ve found that I usually have too many seconds that I want to share for the day, even when the day was tough or I was struggling. I have lots of seconds everyday that make me happy, and sometimes choosing one solitary second is hard. It’s kind of like the 100 happy days project that started a few years ago, however, video is much better for memory recall. I remember the entire day from one second of a clip and of course, at the end I’ll just have one video, instead of 100 pictures. I’m really looking forward to the end of the year when I’ll have 365 seconds of my entire year and I definitely will be sharing it here on my blog. If you like the idea, and want to take part, check out the, 1 Second Everyday, app on the app store. I decided to start my year on January 1st, but a lot of people usually start their year on their birthday which is a really good idea. It’s made me look a lot differently at my life, and I’ve realised how precious the tiny moments really are to me.
If we were having coffee I’d be asking you if you watch The Walking Dead, and wondering if you are as nervous as me! I have to wait until Monday to watch it because I live in the UK, and I wish I could watch it right now, but at the same time am worried about it ending because I’ve exhausted a lot of the TV programmes on Netflix. What am I going to watch when it’s over?
I’ve also been playing The Sims 4 this week as I bought the Get Together DLC. That’s going to be one of my near future posts though because my game has been pretty hilarious so far.
I’ve been really enjoying blogging more often. I used to wait until I had enough comics, but I haven’t quite figured out how to complete them faster yet whilst keeping the same quality. They take me hours. I’m a bit of a perfectionist with the line work and due to my poor motor skills due to my psychiatric medications, I often draw the same line or segment over and over again until it’s “perfect”. I decided though that this blog is about me, and drawing comics is just one part of my personality and I just cannot keep to one topic. I’ve tried having different blogs for different subjects (as I read somewhere that you should just blog about one topic) but I get bored so easily doing that and I prefer reading blogs that have lots of different things going on.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for having coffee with me. I’d like to give a shoutout to Diana from Part Time Monster who hosts the weekend coffee share, for the mention in the Daily Post. I look forward to seeing more weekend coffee share posts in my reader and meeting more of the coffee share crew!
